QUEENDOM – Where Are They Now?

Queendom was a reality survival show that aired on Mnet in 2019. The contestants on the show were established groups and soloists that fought to see who would reign on the charts when they all released a single on the same day.

This post is to show what those groups and soloists have been up to since the show ended 3 years ago.

AOA

  • Released a mini album called “New Moon” which had their final comeback song “Sorry” on its tracklist
  • After the promotions for New Moon ended former AOA member Mina accused the group and especially Jimin of bullying her to the point of self-harm. Jimin left the group and the industry shortly after the allegations came out.
  • Yuna officially left AOA and FNC Entertainment in 2021. Her current agency (if she has one) is unknown.
  • Hyejeong, Seolhyun, and Chanmi remain the only members of AOA to still be at FNC Entertainment causing the group to be on indefinite hiatus.
  • News came out that not all of Mina’s statements were true in 2021.
  • Jimin returned to the public eye and released a song via SoundCloud for her birthday under the name DODO, in January 2022.
  • Yuna continues to write music under the name E.NA and has released OSTs

(G)I-DLE

  • Released a music video for their final comeback song “Lion”
  • Released a third mini album titled “I Trust” which included “Lion” on its track list
  • Released their 2nd Japanese mini album “Oh My God”
  • Released a digital single “DUMDI-DUMDI”
  • Released a fourth mini album, “I BURN”
  • Released HWAA, a single that contained the English and Chinese versions of their most recent title track
  • In March 2021, Soojin faced bullying allegations from a former classmate, no evidence was released but Soojin was still placed on hiatus do to them
  • Released a single “Last Dance” through the platform Universe as 5 members
  • Soyeon released her first mini album “Windy”, it was also her first comeback as a soloist in 3 years.
  • Yuqi made her solo debut with the single “A Page”
  • Soojin left the group in August 2021
  • Yuqi participated in the Chinese survival show STAGE BOOM in August 2021.
  • Released their first full album “I NEVER DIE”
  • Miyeon made her solo debut with the mini album “MY”

LOVELYZ

  • Released a mini album “Unforgettable”.
  • In November 2021, 7 of the 8 members of the group decided not to renew their contracts with Woollim Entertainment, Baby Soul being the only one who did.
  • Following that news and the fact that the company did not state if the group had disbanded the group is on indefinite hiatus, with the members pursuing solo careers.
  • Yoo Jiae signed to YG KPULS to pursue her career as an actress.
  • Seo Jisoo signed to Mystic Story to pursue her career as an actress.
  • Lee Mijoo signed to Antenna.
  • Kei (also as Kim Jiyeon) signed to Palmtree Island to pursue her career as a musical actress.
  • Jin currently has no agency.
  • Ryu Sujeong currently has no confirmed agency.
  • Yein signed to Sublime Artist Agency to pursue her music career.
  • Yein debuted as a soloist in January 2022 with the digital single “Plus N Minus”.
  • Baby Soul debuted (redebuted as she had released solo music before her Lovelyz debut) as a soloist under her real Name Lee Sujeong, in April 2022 with the mini album “My Name”

OH MY GIRL

  • Released a Japanese version of their previous title track “Bungee” as a pre-release for their 3 Japanese full album.
  • Released their 3rd Japanese full album “Eternally” which included their final comeback song “Guerilla (게릴라)” on its tracklist
  • Jiho went on hiatus due to mental health issues, she returned to the group in April (January 2020)
  • Released a 7th mini album “Nonstop”, as a full group following Jiho’s return
  • Released their first Japanese single “Etolie/Nonstop Japanese Ver”
  • Released their 8th mini album “Dear OHMYGIRL”
  • Released a 2nd Japanese single “Dun Dun Dance Japanese Ver”
  • Released their first Japanese best album “OH MY GIRL BEST”
  • Jiho left the group after not resigning with the company, in May 2022.

MAMAMOO

  • Released a 2nd full album “reality in BLACK” which included final comeback song “Destiny” on the track list.
  • Released a Japanese version of their previous title track “HIP” as well as a single “Shampoo” as pre-releases for their upcoming Japanese album.
  • Moonbyul released her first mini album “Dark Side of the Moon”
  • Hwasa released her first mini album “María”
  • Released a Japanese edition of their previous album “reality in BLACK” as their 2nd Japanese full album.
  • Moonbyul released a repackage of her first mini album “門OON”
  • Released a CF single “WANNA BE MYSELF”
  • Hwasa debuted in project group Refund sisters as Silbi
  • Released the single “Dingga” as a pre-release for their upcoming album.
  • Released a 10th mini album “TRAVEL”
  • Released a Japanese edition of “Travel” as their first Japanese mini album
  • Wheein released her first mini album “Redd”
  • Solar debuted as a soloist with the single album “Spit it Out”
  • Released an 11th mini album “WAW”, a part of their WAW project which included a concert and a documentary.
  • In summer of 2021, Wheein was the only member to not resign with RBW. She signed an extension which allows her to participate in Mamamoo activities until December 2023. The other 3 members are resigned to RBW.
  • Wheein signed to THE L1VE to pursue her music career.
  • Released their 1st best album “I SAY MAMAMOO: THE BEST
  • Released a Japanese edition of “WAW”
  • Hwasa released her 2nd single album “Guilty Pleasure”
  • Moonbyul released her 2nd mini album “6equence”
  • Released a Japanese edition of “I SAY MAMAMOO: THE BEST”
  • Solar released her first mini album “容 : FACE”

PARK BOM

  • Released a single “First Snow” which included former fellow 2NE1 member Dara
  • Released a collab single “Red Light” with Sai Sai Kham Leng. (They later released a Myanmar version)
  • Released a single “Do Re Mi Fa Sol” that features Changmo
  • Released a single “Flower” which features Kim Minseok
